Basic Requirements

Strong Grades

Admissions to tertiary institutions outside the country are competitive. It is therefore imperative that a student aspiring for a tertiary education in the United States of America, Canada and United Kingdom etc. make good grades with a minimum of C4.

External Examination Test

If required by the college or university, it will be requested from the College Board that your official test score be sent directly to the college or university admissions office.

Transcript fromSenior High School

An official transcript from the student’s Senior High School is sent electronically to the student’s choice of university of application. It includes information on the record of all the courses taken for high school by the student, school credit, grades and credits earned. It also includes GPA, class rank, standardized test scores and courses in progress.

Extra Curriculum Activities

Students must provide evidence of extra curricula activities, leadership skills, personal and volunteering activities they have been engaged in.

Essays 

Students are required to submit both long and short essays. In some cases, students are given a topic to write on and in other cases, students are at liberty to write on any topic that is of interest to them.

Recommendation Letters

Two types of recommendation letters are requested for submission.
Counsellor Recommendation Letter: This is submitted by the counsellor on behalf of your Senior High School.
Teacher/Instructor Recommendation Form: This is filled by an instructor who knows you well.

About SAT

SAT is an acronym that stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test. It tests students’ abilities in Evidence-Based Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. SAT is an American university admission test, required for admissions in most universities in the United States. SAT is not the only university requirement, but a good score on the test can boost a student’s chances of admission to a university of his or her choice. A good score on the SAT may as well relinquish the need for TOEFL.

SAT are administered seven (7) times per year, of which students can choose a convenient time to write. Tests are scored 200–800 per section. 2400 is the highest total score. Test scores are also used for scholarship and placement purposes. Students are advised to register for the test at least six (6) weeks before the test date.

SAT Subject Test

These are tests based on high school coursework offered across five subject areas, namely Mathematics, English, Science, History, and Language. The test allows students to demonstrate and showcase achievement in specific subject area. However, not all universities require SAT Subject Test.
